The HSWA (Hazardous Substances) Regulations form part of the second grouping of regulations under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 (HSWA). They impact on approximately 150,000 businesses which use, handle, manufacture and store hazardous substances.
This 2 day course has been developed to provide a better understanding to managers and supervisors on the legislation and the responsibilities that stem from this.
The course is suitable for managers and supervisors and will provide an understanding of responsibilities relating to hazardous substances.
The course will have technical components and so a reasonable level of literacy is required.
Content will cover oversight and management (not handling) of hazardous substances, use of the WorkSafe NZ HSNO calculator and understanding of legislation and responsibilities.
The delivery will include practical examples to work through with accompanying information.

The course will be delivered by Robyn Bennett who is a HASANZ registered health & safety professional specialising in health and safety audits, systems, HSNO and practical risk management.
